A barrage of uptempo instrumentals, a beautiful ballad, an old favorite will keep you dancing the night away before closing the evening with a traditional Cuban song performed softly as the lights are romantically dimmed for you hold your special someone close and feel the rest of existence melt away. What a night it will be!

Many of those stories and many of those experiences stay with me daily. I still laugh today at little inside jokes and funny circumstances that happened in those moments and acted as punchlines to those tales. I still cry at the sadness that I have come to know from the stories fading into the wind as each storyteller found the end of their story here on earth.

Being onstage is just like being inside a television. People don’t think of you as being a real, breathing entity. You are just there for their entertainment, as a distraction from silence, or as something for them to complain about.
